Program Overview

Cricket Saskatoon offers a structured Development Program aimed at nurturing young cricket talent in the region. The program caters to various age groups, including age 4 to 18 providing both indoor and outdoor training sessions. Indoor sessions typically run from November to March, focusing on skill development, fitness, and conditioning, while outdoor activities commence in the warmer months.

Girls’ Cricket Training In 2024, Cricket Saskatoon introduced a dedicated training program for girls, attracting approximately 65 participants. This initiative aims to promote inclusivity and encourage female participation in cricket. Growth and Community Engagement The youth program has seen significant growth, with over 150 boys and girls registered. Participants undergo fitness assessments, including the yo-yo test, and are grouped based on skill levels for targeted coaching. The program emphasizes community involvement, with parents actively engaged in supporting their children’s development.

Facilities and Future Plans Cricket Saskatoon currently utilizes existing sports complexes for training and matches. However, with the sport’s growing popularity, there is a recognized need for dedicated cricket facilities to accommodate the increasing number of participants. The organization is actively seeking support to develop such infrastructure, aiming to provide better opportunities for young cricketers to advance to higher levels, including national representation.
